Buried Under 14 Inches Of Snow!

Our day started with my boss calling to tell me that the office was closed because of a snowstorm coming. I looked outside and there wasn't any snow coming down at all! I wasn't about to argue as a snow day sounded nice! Not 30 minutes later did the snow storm hit us...and it didn't stop until 5:30 pm last night! It was craziness! We got 14 inches of snow! Matt got out and took some photos.

Around 7:30 Jake, Matt and I decided to go out to dinner since we felt like we were stuck inside for hours. We headed north (should have realized going north wasn't very smart!) and after driving 30 minutes we soon realized that almost every single restaurant in Kenosha and Lake County was closed. We finally found a bar that was serving decent pizza.

This morning, it took me 1 1/2 hours to get to work! Lake County, IL ran out of salt for their salt trucks!!!! So the roads are horrendous! I guess our governor or some high official called for a state of emergency for our area and snow plows full of salt from southern counties are making their way up here to help with the shortage of plows and salt. I am hoping by the time I have to make my trek home it will be much better.
