My sister-in-law has informed me that I don't blog enough anymore. :) For a while now, I've not felt like there was anything worth really blogging about so I've just kind of stopped. So New Years Resolution #1 - Keep up the blog.
New Years Resolution #2 (For the umpteenth year in a row) - Go to the gym more often and lose weight. I can easily say this in theory, but putting it into practice is a whole other story. Matt has ever so kindly informed me that I need to get back to the gym.
So...Monday morning he informed me we were leaving at 5pm for they gym. I had all day to prepare myself mentally. 5pm came around and no matter how much mental prep I had done that day I did not want to go. I was giving him every excuse in the book...I even started batting my eyes and pouting...hoping that anything would get me out of going to the gym. But Matt was not taking no for an answer. He went to the fridge to get his bottle of water, the whole time saying positive things. With his back turned, he was telling me "All right! This is going to be fun to work out together." He turned around as he was finishing that thought and found me flat on my face on the floor. This was my last attempt to protest the gym and for some reason I figured it just might work. He started laughing at the timing of his comment and finding me sprawled out on the floor, but then he picked me up and told me to put my shoes on.
Ok...I admit that once I started working out it wasn't so bad...and I was told that I was not allowed to ask him how much longer he was going to go or how many more minutes we would be there...that I had work out hard until he was done. Well I did...and it wasn't so bad.
Its nice to be blogging again!

Compassion International - Its Your Turn!
I ask that you take 30 seconds and watch this video.
"God is in the slums, in the cardboard boxes where the poor play house. God is in the silence of a mother who has infected her child with a virus that will end both their lives. God is in the cries heard under the rubble of war. God is in the debris of wasted opportunity and lives, and God is with us if we are with them."

Sniff Sniff
That has been the sound I have been making all week - I have a summer cold. It has been extremely frustrating as it has zapped all of my energy and all of the kleenex in the house!
Matt has been wonderful as I have been less than functional. We are leaving for BigStuf on Friday (at 4am!!!) and I am not prepared for the road trip to Florida. I laid awake last night sniffing and thinking of everything that still needed to be done - who can room with who and not create drama, need to call the hotels, can't forget the box for all their cell phones, and the list went on and on.
I finally walked out into the living room where Matt was playing college football and informed him that I could not sleep. He put down the controller and turned to listen to me list everything off. It was amazing how much that helped to clear my head!
I went back to bed, still sniffing, but at least my mind was at ease...for the moment!

Growth
I have come down with a really bad head cold. It started with a scratchy throat on Sunday and by yesterday morning it was a full blown cold. All day at work I really didn't feel well and came home at the end of the day and just sat in front of the television. Matt and I got to talking about my past colds and when we first got married. I was so whiny when I didn't feel well or had a headache. I was tempted to stay home from work, but Matt was always there telling me that I could push through and basically "Buck Up Anne!"
This cold I have noticed a difference. Yes, I don't feel well and Yes, I am not at full capacity. But, that doesn't mean that people rely upon me at work any less or that the world should slow down just because I have a head cold.
Its been a growing two years! I am glad that I have become the person I am today...standing more and more on my own two feet!

Biggest Loser Competition
I weighed in last night from week 1 and was disappointed. I hadn't lost a single ounce! I weighed exactly what I weighed a week ago!!! I wasn't just disappointed in the scale, but also myself. I hadn't taken the eating part of this very seriously and really hadn't watched what I was eating.
So this week I am determined to see a change on the scale!
This week's challenges:
We'll see how this week goes...

So this week I am determined to see a change on the scale!
This week's challenges:
- 9 glasses of water (or Crystal Lite) a day
- How many crunches can you do in 60 seconds? (I did this challenge last night and got 61! I am the title holder so far...we'll see if anyone beat me tonight)
- How many miles can you do in 25 minutes on each machine (treadmill, elliptical and bike)?
We'll see how this week goes...
