First Day of School

Yesterday I started classes at our local community college. I'm taking two design courses this semester. My first class was Basics of Color and Design. I had no idea that this was an actual art class...drawing and everything! Should be interesting. My second class is Intro to Digital Media. I think I'm really going to like this class!

I walked out of that class with a 2 page paper due and 90 pages of reading...welcome back to school! The paper is actually an assignment I can appreciate. We are to look up five different job descriptions for the design career of our choosing (i.e. graphic design, web design, web production...). Then, we are to write a paper about what requirements are needed for that job and our plan to become equipped to fulfill those requirements.

I sat down last night to begin writing my paper and had a moment of panic. WHERE WAS I SUPPOSED TO PUT MY NAME? Hahaha...it is so silly but I haven't written a paper in 3 years! Still not sure if my name is in the correct spot on my paper, but at least the paper is nearly finished.

This should be an interesting semester balancing my several part-time jobs and school.

Matt's Facebook status yesterday: Anne started college classes today. Which means I am 29 and married to a college student. Pretty sweet.

Back To Reality

We are back from a great weekend in Matt's hometown! It started off a little rocky with me puking in the car for the first hour of the trip in Chicago traffic...but got a lot better after that. :)

I am really excited because I just finished designing a CD cover for David Parker's next CD. Keeping busy!

Blog Design and Scrapbook for Matt

My friend Mindy wanted to update her blog so this is what I came up with. I really like it!


I now only work four days a week, so I'm pretty excited to start focusing more on the blog design work!

Matt is very sentimental and loves to keep things -- including piles of pictures. So, I surprised him a few years ago by putting some of them in a scrapbook. These are a few of my favorite pages from that book:

My little blog design business has taken off! I've done several blog designs so far and I have even started creating banners and logos. Hop on over to Inspired Blog Designs to check out some of the new things I have created.

I LOVE the look of my latest blog design. Connie's blog is all about how her life has been changed and affected by her son's special needs. Her tagline is "My life is like a new haircut...It's not what I expected but with time I know it will get better!" I really wanted to create something fun and wanted to challenge myself by creating the little wave at the bottom of her header.
