Do you ever have those days where you feel as if you've been hit out of left field?  Out of nowhere you get a feeling of frustration, being overwhelmed, and utter chaos?  I am dealing with those exact emotions today and for no other reason than Satan decided to have a field day with my emotions.  Something just popped in my head that my mom always says, "Worry is the worship of your circumstances".  This is my resolve to not worship my circumstances today but to continue moving forward.

Yesterday in our staff meeting we read John 16:17-33 and it is resonating within me today.  In verse 33 Jesus says, "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.  In this world you will have trouble.  But take heart!  I have overcome the world."  There is another verse in Matthew, "Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

Rest.  Sounds good!

  1. Thanks Anne for this reminder today :-) I've been "worshipping my circumstances" a lot this past week. I've found this seems to happen a lot with planting a church and I don't want Satan to feel like he has control of my emotions. But through all this God is teaching me I cannot fill in all the holes but I need to let Him work through them. I hope you have a great rest of your day!
