Extreme Makeover Home Edition and Colds

My parents were always very protective of our family unit, especially since both of my parents are in ministry. Sunday nights were Family Nights. All seven of us would come together and watch Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. These are one of the memories I will take with me forever. Matt and I have youth group on Sunday nights so I haven't been able to watch an episode since we got married.

Friday night I started getting a scratchy throat and by Saturday I had a full blown head cold. Sunday rolled around and I just didn't have the energy to go to youth group. I was flipping through the channels last night when Extreme Makeover: Home Edition came on! It is amazing how something like a TV Show will make you feel so much better! My parents are in Poland right now, and being sick made me feel even further away from my family. While watching this show, I somehow felt close to them, like they were sitting in the room with me. I thank God for moments like these! They keep me sane!

  1. Aww, sorry you're not feeling well. When I read your post I was like," aww, anne I totally know how you feel!" My family used to have Family Night on Mondays and I really miss that. Also, my mom and I always watched Bonanza on TV Land together. I haven't seen it in a while but it was on today and I got to watch it, which made me so happy because it made me feel connected to my mom accross the miles!
